Child Sexual Abuse Material

Ashley Crouse was pastor at New Vision Baptist Fellowship Church, in Granite Falls, North Carolina. After his arrest, the church terminated him.

An investigation began after the Sheriff’s ofice recived an anonymous tip that he had inappropriate contact with minor girls.

In their search, they found four child sexual exploitation videos depicting girls between 8 and 12 years old.

1195: John McCall

Child Sexual Abuse Material, Solicitation of a Minor

John Justin McCall was a worship leader at Grace River Community Church until he was arrested in October 11, 2023, for trying to solicit a minor online. The pastor said they did a background check and interviewed former employers. He worked at Ark Encounter, a creationist theme park

1194: Dick Pelley

Abuse of Power or Authority, Sexual Misconduct

While working at Heal and Hope, he demeaned a client and abused her by telling her to grab her breasts, shake them, and exclaim she was a “hot piece of ass.” He also pointed to her vagina and told her not to sleep around. He demeaned her employment, telling her to get a “real job.” He asked her about church attendance and ranted at her when she said she didn’t go to church. The claims were investigated by the the Tennessee Board of Professional Counselors, Marital and Family Therapists and Clinical Pastoral Therapists who revoked his license on October 6, 2023.

Child Sexual Abuse Material

Corey White was the youth pastor at Redeemer Midland, a church that’s statement of beliefs spends more text on anti-gay rhetoric than on communion, Jesus, and salvation combined. He was arrested for possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. They fired him after his arrest.

1192: Robert Austin

Child Indecency, Solicitation of a Minor

Robert William Austin, a Florida Department of Corrections chaplain, was caught in an undercover sting. Police created several false identities on social media. Austin sent messages to one of those false identities thinking he was communicating with a 14-year-old girl. He sent her explicit pictures. The day “he was arrested he happened to tell the “girl” that he was going fishing. The police worked with Fish and Wildlife, found him where he was out fishing, and arrested him there.

1191: Newt Crenshaw

Organizational Cover-Up

Newton Crenshaw is the President and CEO of Young Life Ministries, a ministry with nearly a half billion in receipts and over a third of a billion in assets. It has been sued by people alleging they were sexually abused or harassed by Young Life employees and the response has been to cover up rather than root out the problem.

Three former leaders of International House of Prayer released a public statement on October 28th, 2023, that asked the organization to address the several long-standing allegations of sexual misconduct by Mike Bickle, what they referred to as the “collective and corroborating testimony of several victims.”
