David Scott was the head of Exxon Mobil’s shale oil and gas business. As a senior vice president, he oversaw all Exxon’s shale oil and gas production. That was until he was arrested in October, 2023, at the Magnolia, Texas, La Quinta Inn & Suites, according to the Montgomery Sheriff’s Office.
He was in his room at the hotel when he was arrested after one of two women who were in the room with him went to the lobby and called the police and claimed he sexually assaulted her.
He was charged with second-degree felony assault.
Charges were dropped in February. The Grand Jury declined to indict.
