Walter Davis Lundy is a former advisor to Weston Wamp, a failed GOP congressional candidate and the current mayor of Hamilton County. He resigned in 2022 after an arrest for DUI, possession of marijuana. He had a glass of wine in the car with him and the trooper found marijuana as well. The District Attorney, Wamp’s sister, recused herself. Nonetheless, the DA’s office declined to prosecute.
He was arrested again in June, 2024, when he took a baseball bat and beat his adult son. The son called the police. By the time the police arrived, the bat was broken but they saw the bruising on his son’s body.
Both Lundys had been drinking and the son had an outstanding warrant so both were taken into custody. The father got an additional sentence for trying to conceal marijuana in a jar.
