769: Jonathan Young

Jonathan Lee Young was a Tennessee Circuit Court Judge. In 2020, he was publicly reprimanded by State of Tennessee Board of Judicial Conduct for sending inappropriate flirtatious and sexual messages over social media to women who work for or had business before the court. One recipient worked for a law firm that regularly appears in his court. Another recipient was a woman with a custody case before him.

He got a 30-day suspension that was suspended unless he did it again. He did it again. He pursued a woman who had an adoption case before him, asking for intimate photos and getting her to see him at a hotel and have sex with him.

He also got in trouble for social media posts and media interviews about a case before him. He was suspended until the end of his term.

He lost re-election by 21 points in the Republican primary.
