Alejandro Carmona-Fonseca was a deputy on the Jacksonville Sheriff’s office. A teen boy met Carmona at a gym and connected with him on Snapchat in the expectation that Carmona would give him workout advice, which he initially did. He began requesting photos of the teen without his shirt and then he began sending explicit pictures of himself.
The teen talked about it with friends and someone tipped the Sheriff’s office who spoke with the teen. The teen let an officer take over his account and Carmona sent an explicit video. When he was arrested, he refused to resign. He was suspended without pay.
Aanother teen came forward and more charges were added. Although he initially pled not guilty, in December, 2022, he admitted his actions and changed his plea to guilty.
