John Robert Griffin was a pastor at Riverbend Community Church in Ormond Beach, Florida. He also was a professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. He was arrested for possession of child sexual abuse material. Shortly before his arrest, he asked the state to reinstate him and his wife as foster parents.
Griffin was arrested in January and then, again, in April after even more images were discovered. He was also communicating with a minor child in sexual and graphic conversations. He was out on bail but it was revoked after he sent a letter to a child.
He pleaded No Contest and was sentenced to 20 years.
