Herschel Walker was the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Georgia. He was unqualified, but that didn’t stop Donald Trump, Lauren Boebert, or Louie Gohmert. He has a long history of domestic violence and abuse. There were several allegations of abuse from his ex-wife, his son, and former lovers. Two women claimed he paid for abortions despite his anti-abortion stance.
From contemporaneous police accounts:
- In 2001, the police confiscated Walker’s handgun after his therapist called 911 to claim he was threatening his wife and talking about a shootout with police.
- In 2002, a woman went to police in Texas to allege that he had been following her, making threats, and having her house watched.
- In 2012, according to his ex-girlfriend, he threatened to “blow her head off” and kill himself.
