Madison Cawthorn was a U.S. Congressman famous for abusing trees. He was elected to Congress in 2020 and is the youngest member of Congress. With his election, there is greater attention paid to his biography which is full of exaggerations and outright lies. He only attended Patrick Henry College before dropping out, but several women who attended college with him have brought forward allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct. Two women accuse him of forcibly kissing and touching them. His sexual misconduct was so well-known that 150 former classmates signed onto an open letter arguing his conduct was disqualifying.
He was elected anyway and proceeded to run up controversies and ethics violations. He lost the 2022 primary and quit before his term was up. It was not his harassment and abuse of women that ended his political career, but an adult, consensual video with another man and his claim that there were cocaine-filled orgies with Republican politicians in D.C.
