Mark Bedell ran as the Republican candidate for a Maine House seat. He was arrested on aggravated assault charges and was accused of domestic violence. The Maine GOP asked him to step down.
He was arrested when a woman told the police he assaulted and strangled her. She described their relationship as friends.
