Gregg Hayden is a retired lieutenant at the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina. He was also the School Safety and Security Supervisor for Anderson School District Five. He was appointed to the Anderson County School District One Board in where he served from April to August, 2025, when he resigned after his arrest for criminal sexual conduct with minors. He also resigned from his position at Anderson Five.
Hayden knew the twelve-year-old child through a church membership program. He picked up the child to play basketball and was observed by nearby drivers to be groping the child’s genitals several times in what seemed to be an attempt to arouse the child and have the child attempt to arouse him.
During the investigation, deputies identified two additional victims, both students at the school where Hayden worked. Additional charges were filed.
