886: Patricia Kent – Republican Sexual Predators

Patricia Kent was a teacher and ran a write-in campaign for county clerk/auditor in Washington County, Utah. Her message was pushing the Big Lie and promising accountable elections. She also talked about drag shows grooming children.

She should know from grooming. She was allowed to resign her teaching job in 1996 after her inappropriate relationships with her female students became public knowledge. The Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission investigated and reported there was evidence she had intimate relations with the young girl, but it was insufficient. However, there was ample evidence of improper communications and grooming. The Utah State Board of Education revoked her teaching license for “unprofessional conduct as evidenced by overly familiar and physically intimate personal relationships with students and inappropriate discussions of religion and other topics.” The vote was unanimous and the Education Dept spokesperson said “She will have no hope of ever getting back a teaching certificate in the state of Utah.”

She appealed and her lawyer tried to make it about freedom of religion, but the case was about sexual misconduct including sharing a bed with a students and sending intimate letters. Four former students reported sexual misconduct.

And now she is going after drag queens. She brags she won’t watch Hallmark Channel because the might sneak in gay characters. Her organization, Liberty Action Network is a far right extremist group that is anti-drag, anti-BLM, anti-mask, and indistinguishable from all the other gun-toting fear-mongering MAGA cells. The revelation of her past inappropriate relationships with students led to her resignation.
