Chris Henderson was a City Councilman in Kennesaw, Georgia. In March, 2021, he was arrested for domestic violence and assault after a drunken, violent outburst. There were five people in his home, three guests and Henderson and his wife. He got into an argument and was attacking his wife. A man intervened and a fight broke out.
The man had a cut on his forehead. Henderson threw all sorts of objects at his wife. He nearly struck one of the police officers. He also came at the officers with a knife but dropped it when ordered to.
He was offered pre-trial diversion which he attended so the D.A. declined to prosecute. This means he will have no criminal record. He did not resign his seat and campaigned for re-election and perhaps expected to win.
In spite of this, nearly half the voters voted in him, though thankfully, he lost by 270 votes.
