Kevin Christensen was a justice court judge in four different Utah municipalities. In 2013, he was censured for quadruple-dipping, so to speak, collecting more than what is allowed by law. He was ordered to repay his overpayment. He was arrested in March 2025 for six sex crimes involving children: two counts of attempted exploitation of a minor, two counts of enticing a minor and two counts of dealing materials harmful to a minor. He is being held without bail.
The investigation began in February when investigators found Christensen’s KIK account. They found several hinky chat threads going back several months. They also found evidence that suggests he distributed and received child sexual abuse material.

Additionally, the charging documents point to his involvement in similar crimes with the fire chief Ned B. Hanson about sexually abusing children. Hansen was also charged with eight counts of sexually exploiting a minor. Hansen was arrested before investigators learned of Christensen’s partnership and sexual relationship with him. So he was arraigned before Christensen who denied the prosecution request to hold Hansen without bail. After Christensen was arrested, Hansen was brought before another judge and jailed without bail.
