Barry Hovis is a Republican state representative in Missouri. He is anti-abortion and supported a ban on abortion after eight weeks. To make his case, he expounded on his experience as a police officer informing him that most rapes were not “a gentleman” jumping out of the bushes but were “date rapes or consensual rapes.”

417: Robert Foster

Rape Culture

Robert Foster is a former state representative in Mississippi. He ran for governor but lost the Republican primary with less than 18% of the vote. Shamefully, he would not allow women to cover his campaign without a chaperone. He said someone could take a picture of him with a woman, his rivals could use it to smear him. “Out of respect for his wife” women had to have chaperones.

416: Mitch McConnell

Rape Culture

Mitch McConnell is the Republican leader in the U.S. Senate. At the time this happened, he was the Senate Majority Leader. He usually makes an effort to appear above the fray but when his official campaign account shared a photo a group of young men in his #TeamMitch shirts assaulted, groped, and strangled a life-size photo cutout of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez suggesting she should be assaulted with the phrase “Break me off a piece of that” he did not apologize. Instead his campaign offered a very boys-will-be-boys defense.

415: John Fickas

John Fickas was a Republican campaign consultant in California. He was also a volunteer high school track and field coach. He also raped students. He raped a 15-year-old and a 22-year-old former student while they were unconscious. His third victim was 42. He raped a 15-year-old assigned to volunteer with him on campaign duties twice.…

Child Sexual Abuse Material, Rape

In 2019, woman called the police from his home. She claimed that she had attended a party at Jones’ home the night before. The woman claimed he took her out on an ATV and raped her out in the woods. Jones claimed it was consensual. A judge dismissed her application for a protective order because he didn’t think she was convincing though the woman went to an Emergency Room where they identified trauma to her body.

413: Steven Seagal

Rape, Sexual Assault, Sexual Harassment

Steven Seagal has been accused of sexual assault by several women, even one girl who was only seventeen at the time. Regina Simons accused him of raping her in 1993 when she was eighteen and also claims she reported it to the police at the time. Jenny McCarthy accused him of sexually harassing her. Portia di Rossi accused him of unzipping his pants during an audition. Faviola Dadids claims he groped her when she was seventeen. Julianna Margulies described an audition that frightened her and she feels she escaped assault by fleeing.

412: David Ralston

Enabling

For example, he delayed the trial of child rapist Jason Brothers eight times over seven years until the prosecutor felt he had no choice but offer a deal. So Brothers admitted to rape and got probation. In another case, a man with a long history of domestic violence beat up another woman, he hired Ralston and brags about knowing Ralston will just delay his trial.

Child Molestation, Child Rape

Jason Brothers was a traveling Evangelist preacher who raped a child in 2012 but did not face justice until 2019 when he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and avoided all jail time. His lawyer, David Ralston (412) used his position as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives to delay the trial so long the prosecutor thought it unlikely witnesses would have clear memories.

He repeatedly raped a 14-year-old girl and got probation.

410: Bernadette Comfort

Organizational Cover-Up

Bernadette Comfort is the vice-chair of the Pennsylvania Republican Party. She was also implicated in an effort to cover up the sexual harassment allegations that featured Valentino DiGiorgio III.
