Former Sheriff Perry Grogan was featured in 1990 by Newt Gingrich as an example of Republican governance for his success in building a new jail under the anticipated cost. Newt Gingrich called him a friend. Still he lost re-election in 1992. In 1996, he was campaigning to get his job back when he was indicted with six counts alleging child molestation.
According to the victim and her uncle, in 1989 and 1990, when she was 10 and 11 years old, he bathed with and fondled her. Her father, who considered Grogan a friend, killed himself when she told him what happened. Her uncle confirms that her father was upset and said he had to confront Grogan. Michael T. McCourt was the Douglas County GOP County Chairman as well as the East Wenatchee Water and Sewer Commissioner. His wife, Sandra, sat on the East Wenatchee City Council from 2004 to 2018. He was sentenced to 51 months for molesting an 8-year-old boy. The statute of limitations had run out on several other incidents that go back as far as the 1980s. He served 45 of his 51 months.
Sherman Lee Criner, a GOP candidate for the Deleware state Senate, was accused of molesting a child. Because his wife is a judge, the investigation was carried out by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) rather than local or county police who would be frequently appearing in court before the judge. Criner was a family friend of the alleged victim.
According to the paper, the prosecutor declined to file charges to protect the alleged victim.
Ron P. Broussard Jr. was one of Trump University’s staff. He was also a convicted child molester. Trump claimed the staff was hand-picked and half of them had financial and legal troubles. One of them was Ron Broussard, listed as staff or coordinator on five seminars, who was convicted of sodomy and indecent acts with a child.
Pastor Roy D. Bolden was the head of Providence, Rhode Island GOP, but was forced to resign when he was arraigned for molesting a child. A 21-year-old man came forward and claimed he was molested by Bolden since he was twelve years old and for several years after.
Joe McCarthy not only promoted the infamous Red Scare that led to purges in the State Department and Hollywood, he also began the Lavender Scare that did the same thing to homosexuals. Now, the anti-gay employment policies did not originate with him and some revisionist historians use that to argue that blaming him for the Lavender Scare is a smear. They are wrong. Joe McCarthy promoted the Lavender Scare and there is a transcript of him that proves them wrong.
Styles Bridges was the U. S. Senator from New Hampshire back in the bad old days when homosexuality was a crime. He was an ally of Sen. Joe McCarthy who was behind the infamous Red Scare and Lavender Scare. The Lavender Scare is what Bridges employed in driving Sen. Lester Hunt to suicide.
Ernie Konnyu was a Republican Representative from Silicon Valley when he was accused of sexual harassment. He served one term in Congress and three in the California House of Representatives. There he pushed the workfare bill, requiring people on welfare to work for their benefits. He went to Congress and was one of authors of the welfare reform bill that forced people on welfare to work.
In his first year in Congress, he was accused of sexual harassment by three women.
