866: Mark Aderholt

Child Molestation, Child Rape

He was also a child molester. When one of his victims reported that he sexually abused and assaulted her, the International Mission Board investigated and sustained her allegation, yet they did not report him to the police and it did not affect his career since he went on to work for the Southern Baptist Convention in Alabama.

856: Billy James Hargis

Extortion, Improper Conduct or Comments, Sexual Assault, Sexual Misconduct

As president of American Christian College, he used his power to have sex with college students. Although they were the age of consent, (one was sixteen) they were not in a position to refuse the college president. His position of authority made this statutory rape.

Among the more outlandish events is the story of two students who got married. Hargis performed the ceremony. On their honeymoon, they learned Hargis had slept with both of them.

Child Abuse, Child Endangerment, Custodial Negligence, Trafficking

Angie Woodward operated Trinity Teen Solutions, a Christian boarding camp for unruly children. Enabling, Rape Culture

Doug Wilson is the leader of a reactionary religious movement and the pastor of Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho. He preaches that men dominate and women submit. While he was dean, children were abused and psychologically tortured according to former students. Even predators who sexually abused children were kept on staff.

779: Ronnie Floyd

Organizational Cover-Up

Ronnie Floyd was the President of the Southern Baptist Conference until his resignation in late 2021. The SBC was heavily criticized for lack of transparency about sexual predator pastors. Floyd opposed releasing information about these predators. He thought transparency would lead to more criticism of the SBC and open it to lawsuits. SBC’s leaders were pressured to waive attorney-client privilege so an outside firm could investigate allegations of abuse.

Child Molestation

John Lowe was the pastor of the New Life Christian Church in Warsaw, Indiana. In 2022, he confessed to adultery in a Sunday sermon. The only problem is that it’s not adultery when the woman is only sixteen. It is child molestation. It is rape. The woman and her husband responded when Lowe confessed, standing…

777: Salvatore J. Cordileone

Organizational Cover-Up

Cordileone remains the only California bishop yet to release an internal list of priests “credibly accused” of sexually abusing children. In fact, he has refused to publish the names of identified pedophiles in the Archdiocese, instead listing priests in “good standing.” This is not twenty years ago. He is still protecting pedophile priests in 2022.

772: John Raymond

John Raymond is a member of the St. Tammany Parish Republican Committee and formerly served on the Executive Committee. He is also on the Louisiana Republican Central Committee. He ran, unsuccessfully, for Congress. He was also the first voted off the island on Survivor. He is the founding pastor of New Horizon Church which owns Bridge Radio and Lakeside Christian Academy. As a teacher and headmaster at Lakeside Christian Academy, he has more than once been charged with child abuse.
