Frederick Wall ran unsuccessfully in the Republican primary for South Carolina House District 27. That same year he was arrested for possession of child exploitation material. He denied, threatening a reporter who questioned him. However, a man of his name, age, and address was arrested. The several charges are still pending. New charges seem to have been added in February, 2022.
Gary Rolls was a Republican county commissioner in Kent County, Michigan. In 2012, after he won his Republican primary in a state House race, a 28-year-old woman came forward claiming he had sexually abused her since she was nine years-old until she was twenty-three. But never fear, his arrest was dignified. He was charged with four counts of first-degree sexual assault, tampering with evidence, and using a computer to commit a crime.
The woman testified that she suffered from migraines, high blood pressure, anxiety, and nightmares as a result of the abuse. She said he threatened her and since she saw him associating with police and other powerful people, he could carry out his threats so she submitted to his demands.
“He made me do things that made me physically sick and he didn’t care. If I cried, he told me to stop because I was weak. If I said no, he told me I wasn’t allowed to tell him no because he was the adult and I was the child,” she said.
“There are no words to truly reflect the pain, the fears, and the lifelong scars that I have endured because of him.”

Thomas Ravenel was the State Treasurer of South Carolina when he was convicted of buying cocaine to distribute. In 2008, he was sent to prison for ten months. He then went on to star in the reality TV show “Southern Charm.” He ran for the US Senate in 2014. In 2018, one woman alleged he sexually assaulted her mother but she amended her suit to withdraw that accusation. She also accused the other woman who came forward of lying.
Ravenel’s children’s nanny, accused him of sexual assault and rape. Ravenel pled guilty to 3rd degree sexual assault and was given a 30-day suspended sentence and fined $500. He also settled a civil suit with the nanny by donating to a charity for sexual assault survivors so she supported his minimal sentence. Another woman shared allegations of him flipping a switch and trying to physically intimidate her.
Schaeffer Cox was an unsuccessful Republican primary challenger for Alaska state House of Representatives. He got a respectable 37% of the vote in the primary. He was also involved in Ron Paul’s campaign for the presidency. He was very active in gun rights and was one of the founders of the Fairbanks Second Amendment Task Force. He is now in prison for conspiracy in a wild plan to kill several people.
He first got in trouble with the law for domestic violence. Originally he was charged with second-degree assault after his wife claimed he hit and choked her. He pled guilty to reckless endangerment in a deal for two years probation and a one-month suspended sentence.
Sherman Lee Criner, a GOP candidate for the Deleware state Senate, was accused of molesting a child. Because his wife is a judge, the investigation was carried out by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) rather than local or county police who would be frequently appearing in court before the judge. Criner was a family friend of the alleged victim.
According to the paper, the prosecutor declined to file charges to protect the alleged victim.
Herman Cain, 2012 Republican presidential primary candidate, and avid Trump supporter admitted he agreed to settlements for sexual harassment claims. During his run for the Republican nomination, it came out that two women had complained of sexual harassment and signed non-disclosure agreements in exchange for a settlement. The first allegations were over things he said that made women he worked with uncomfortable. They were anonymous and leaked to the press. However, more allegations surfaced, including one from Sharon Bialek who faced the press in a news conference and described how Cain physically groped her and tried to force her into a sex act.
While James Tracey, Jr. was running for the state legislature in Maine in 1994, he was also facing rape charges in Rhode Island from 1992. He was alleged to have raped an 18-year-old fellow student at the University of Maine. They were attending a hockey game in Providence where it happened. He actually won the primary despite the charges though he lost the general. He then pleaded no contest.
Derek Walker was running in the Republican congressional primary in Pennsylvania when right before the 2008 primary, he was charged with burglary and criminal trespass for breaking into her home to tape her with another man.
