1223: Johnathan Andrew Edwards

He was arrested and charged on December 5th, 2023. He was charged with ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. That is one count for each of the ten girls from ages seven to seventeen whom he allegedly raped. He was also charged with obstructing justice because he is believed to have destroyed digital evidence of his sexual abuse of minors.

1196: Ashley Crouse

Child Sexual Abuse Material

Ashley Crouse was pastor at New Vision Baptist Fellowship Church, in Granite Falls, North Carolina. After his arrest, the church terminated him.

An investigation began after the Sheriff’s ofice recived an anonymous tip that he had inappropriate contact with minor girls.

In their search, they found four child sexual exploitation videos depicting girls between 8 and 12 years old.

1189: Matthew Wyatt

Child Molestation, Child Rape, Child Sexual Abuse Material

Matthew Thomas Wyatt was a frequent guest preacher at Southside Baptist Church in Yadkinville, North Carolina. The pastor confirmed that Wyatt preached there several times but wanted it understood he was not officially a pastor there. He was charged with felony sex crimes involving a child less than fifteen years old.

1188: Tammy Tyner

Abuse of Power or Authority, Child Indecency, Child Molestation, Child Rape, Sexual Battery

In a plea agreement, she submitted an Alford plea for two counts of sexual battery. Instead of serving the 120 days, the sentences were suspended. She will serve two years probation and register as a sex offender. Probation for raping exchange students living in her home. The other charges were dismissed.

1111: Terry Rudisill

Child Indecency, Child Rape, Sexual Abuse

Terry Rudisill was the pastor at Cornerstone Independent Baptist Church in Lincolnton, NC, He was arrested in July 2023 for two counts of statutory sex offense with a child and three counts of indecent liberties with a child. This was for assaults reported in 2016 when the victim was fifteen. The delay was due to jurisdictional issues. The case was reported to police who had no jurisdiction where the crime took place, but the case was not transferred to the Sheriff’s office until this year.
