1113: Angela Stewart

Abuse of Power or Authority, Child Molestation, Sexual Battery

Angela Leigh Stewart was a teacher at Lighthouse Christian School. She was arrested for inappropriate sexual conduct with an underage special needs child. She began texting the child in November 2022 and met the student outside school. When questioned by her supervisor, she said she was supporting the student who she believed was being abused.

1089: Fabian Basabe

Assault, Sexual Harassment

The aide told CBS News that Basabe had been drinking, there was some misunderstanding that “lead him to slap me in the face in front of other people in the room. He then told me to stand in the corner. I was so embarrassed that I did as he asked.” This happened in January, but Frevola did not talk about it until he was contacted because he signed an NDA when he started working for Basabe.

1088: Matthew Porter

Child Sexual Abuse Material, Secret Photos or Recordings

Matthew Porter was the youth pastor at Bethel Baptist Church in Bradenton, FL when he was caught secretly recording young Bible study students undressing in his home. He had a house sitter while on a trip to Mexico and the sitter discovered a hidden camera and reported it to police. The sitter gave police permission to search. They found cameras that Porter said were for security, but then they found recordings of the girls, ages 12 to 16. The recordings are Child Sexual Abuse Material even though he was not charged with it.

1082: Larry Wilcoxson

Assault, Child Molestation, Grooming, Intimidation, Menacing, Solicitation of a Minor

His former fiancée filed a restraining order alleging violence. He denies it.

Another serious allegation was made in his home state of Indiana where he was alleged to have a student he taught at a middle school, either a sixth or seventh grader. The case was not pursued even though there were allegations from several people and despite his being fired for exposing himself to a custodian. Later a thirteen-year-old girl claimed he molested her and gave her a nude photo of himself. She showed it to several classmates. The case was dismissed because the judge excluded one of the essential witnesses.

1059: Kent Stermon

Sexual Misconduct, Solicitation of a Minor

Kent Stermon was appointed the the Florida Board of Governors by Gov. Ron DeSantis, a man he helped elect and to whom he donated generously. Stermon was an influential GOP donor and active in politics without running for office. In December, 2022, he killed himself. It was rumored that it was due to an investigation of sexual misconduct.

1030: Brandon Fox

Child Sexual Abuse Material

At sentencing he said he made no excuses for his actions. Then, he claimed he turned to CSAM because he suffered from depression and anxiety after a fellow police officer and friend Jason Raynor died 55 days after being shot in the head. He said he spent every day at Raynor’s bedside. Additionally, he said two friends committed suicide. This caused him to turn to CSAM. He claimed he was not sexually attracted to children at all and no one should think he was a sex offender. His lawyer said he “took responsibility for his actions.” The prosecutor said he could understand that he was under stress, but most people turn to drugs or alcohol, not child pornography (CSAM).
