Joshua Powell was formerly NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre’s Chief of Staff though before he was fired, he had been demoted to senior strategist. He was accused of sexual harassment by at least two women who were paid settlements from NRA funds. He was also accused of using NRA funds for personal expenses, but that is standard among NRA executives.
The sexual harassment was so bad that the marketing firm Spencer Ackerman quit working for the NRA citing the NRA’s response to their complaints about Powell. He was only let go when their coverup was made public.
He wrote a mea culpa called “Inside the NRA” that details the financial corruption.
