Joel Anderson is a San Diego County Supervisor and a former Republican state senator in California. He was reprimanded for threatening a woman who was a lobbyist in a bar. He rubbed her shoulders which witnesses described as clearly unwelcome and uninvited. He then complained that her organization had not endorsed him, and said he out to “bitch slap” her. According to a witness, he threatened to slap her several times. Another witness confirmed it as did the restaurant staff.
An outside investigator interviewed witnesses and video recording of the incident and confirmed the woman’s allegations. He was issued a letter of reprimand.
