Matthew Fairfield was a member of the Oath Keepers. He was arrested in the course of a mortgage fraud investigation. The mortgage fraud task force executed a search warrant and discovered an arsenal. He had a bomb and many other weapons they assumed he had stolen from the military. But that’s not all, when they searched they also found Child Sex Abuse Material (CSAM)
This guy had a jar of napalm and a live, wired explosive. He was indicted for 97 charges of unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance, receipt of stolen property, possession of criminal tools, failure to secure dangerous ordnance, perjury and pandering obscenity involving child pornography.
He was originally sentenced to 16 years in prison, but he appealed and got it reduced to 9 by merging some of the charges. He appealed again, objecting to the sentences running consecutively, but lost. He got 4 more years for interfering in an investigation of another weapons hoarder.
They dropped the CSAM in the plea negotiations.
