Wilmer “Will” Puello-Mota was a city councilor in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He ran for a nonpartisan office but was endorsed by the conservative A Better Holyoke and not by the liberal Forward/Palante PAC which endorsed the other candidate.
He was extradited to Rhode Island for possession of child sexual abuse material. He refused to resign, but his seat was vacated after he was convicted of a bail violation. He attended a children’s Halloween party despite being ordered to stay away from children. He sued and was returned to office.
Police found Child Sex Abuse Material he received from a child he persuaded to send him images. He is the one who called the police when her friends confronted him. He had property go missing, including a handgun.
Update: Puello-Mota has fled the country. A few days before his trial was set to begin, he flew to Turkey. Video has surfaced with someone people believe is Puello-Mota fighting on the Russian side (of course) in Ukraine.
