Steve Wilsey was a youth counselor for Focus on the Family. He was convicted in December 2000 for molesting an eight-year-old boy, “sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.” The boy’s mother worked for Focus on the Family. Wilsey offered to mentor her three sons in 1992 after she heard a Focus on the Family broadcast that suggested sons of single mothers were at risk of becoming gay.
