Daniel Edmonds ran for the Republican nomination for US Congress in 2010, but he lost. In 2019, he was arrested for having inappropriate sexual contact with a child over a four-year period. A second child said Edmonds began molesting him around 2015 and continued until December 2018. He was arrested in January, 2019, so who knows how long it might have continued if the child had not come forward.
His trial in April 2022 ended in a hung jury. The second trial was scheduled for August but the next disposition docket is in December 2022.
