Wesley Ke ndall Allen worked in law enforcement most of his career. He was a cop in the past and, most recently, worked as a corrections officer at Cache Valley Youth Center. In January, 2023, he was arrested for raping and sexually abusing an inmate at the CVYC. This is double an abuse of power. She was a minor and she was in custody that gave him power over her. The victim’s mother reported the rapes when she read her daughter’s diary and what she wrote about him.
The victim described how he would take her to off-camera places to assault her. Videos confirm them going out of camera range. A video also confirms that he watched her while she showered. He pleaded guilty in March 2023.
While waiting to be sentenced another victim came forward and claimed he raped her in 2005 when he was a police officer. She felt compelled by his size and his position as a police officer. Investigators confirmed what was possible to confirm after all this time, such as the layout of his apartment, etc.
Investigators also found the same pattern of behavior that enabled so many priests and pastors to abuse multiple people. They said he was fired for sexual misconduct time and again from 2005 to 2022, but was always able to move on to another position. We know people are unlikely to be frank about why someone is fired for fear of being sued. There’s good reason for that, but it does allow malefactors the freedom to offend again and again.
