Emma Hancock was a substitute teacher at Wellston Public Schools. Her father is the Mayor and her husband the Chief of Police. She allegedly groomed a 15 year-old-boy via text, exchanging nude and sexually explicit pictures. She also sexually abused him twice in person, groping him in the classroom closet, according to affidavit.
It was reported to the school who took her off the substitute list and informed local, county, and state law enforcement. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation interviewed the students, his friend corroborated details and Hancock admitted it. According to the texts, she seemed to think she would get away with it, perhaps counting on her father & husbands positions in the community.
She has been charged with two counts of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology as well as two counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16. All are felonies. She pleaded not guilty. The preliminary hearing is August 18.
