1055: Michael Coleman

Solicitation of a Minor

Michael Wayne Coleman was a Mormon bishop in Mesa, Arizona. In 2014, he was arrested and charged with soliciting minors for sexual exploitation. The LDS church suspended him when he was investigated. He was working for a company that arranged foreign exchanges for students to come to the United States and had online conversations with the students. He asked them for nude photos, for a kiss, etc. A student complained to the company, they seized his company laptop and informed the police who arrested him.

1053: Timothy Owen

Solicitation of a Minor

Timothy Keith Owen was a police officer in Edmond, Oklahoma. He retired in 2015, but still did some work for the department as a civilian employee. He was charged with soliciting a minor, a 14-year-old girl. Someone sent the police an anonymous letter alleging there was some issue, so they investigated and the child confirmed he sent her texts asking if she were still a virgin and telling her he wanted to be her first. He also asked her to delete all texts he sent her.

1042: Nick Johnson

Nick Johnson was the track coach at Huntington University, a conservative evangelical school in Huntington, Indiana. The track team excelled and won national championships and other recognition. However, there was an extensive record of sexual abuse and the use of performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs)

1014: Stephen Arthur Morris

Stephen Arthur Morris was the pastor of Oliver’s Grove Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist conservative church. In July 2019, he was arrested and charged with raping a thirteen-year-old girl who attended his church. She reported this when she was eighteen. In October 2019, two additional women came forward to report his attempts to abuse them when they were minors. In 2020, they also charged him with possessing child sexual abuse materials after searching his electronics.

988: Deric Wallace Peacock

Child Sexual Abuse Material, Solicitation of a Minor

Deric Wallace Peacock was a youth pastor at South Hopewell Church of God. He was suspended in 2014 after being convicted of a procuring sex acts by computer of an individual believed to be under the age of 15. He was out on probation when he was arrested and charged with distributing child sex abuse material.

985: John Blanchard

Solicitation of a Minor

John Blanchard is the pastor of Rock Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is an ardent Trump supporter who editorialized on behalf of Trump. He remains the pastor despite his 2021 arrest for soliciting a minor. He was talking to an undercover officer. He was told he was meeting for sex with a 17-year-old girl. He arrived at the spot with money for the transaction and was arrested by the police.

941: Jonathan Ensey

Child Indecency, Solicitation of a Minor

Jonathan Ryan Ensey was music director and worship leader at Living Way Church where his father was pastor. He pursued a sexual relationship with a child he met when she was nine. As her pastoral leader, he persuaded her that what he was doing was perfectly fine. So fine that she mentioned to her father that she was in a relationship with him. The father found thousands of texts from him to his daughter including a photo Ensey took from the pulpit referencing fellatio that he sent to a child.

931: Alexander Roesly

Solicitation of a Minor

Alexander Roesly was the youth pastor at Praise Chapel of Church God in Union City, Indiana. He sent messages to thirteen and fifteen-year-old girls asking if they wanted to be “friends with benefits.” The fifteen-year-old attended his church. He was charged with solicitation of a minor for the thirteen-year-old, but not the fifteen-year-old as he was nineteen at the time.
