Sexual Misconduct, Solicitation of a Minor

Kent Stermon was appointed the the Florida Board of Governors by Gov. Ron DeSantis, a man he helped elect and to whom he donated generously. Stermon was an influential GOP donor and active in politics without running for office. In December, 2022, he killed himself. It was rumored that it was due to an investigation of sexual misconduct.

1023: Jacob Woods

Jacob Woods was a youth pastor at Rutherford County Baptist Church in Smyrna, Tennessee. He was arrested in May 2022 and indicted on five counts of statutory rape by an authority figure. According to the victim’s family, he began grooming her when she was fifteen and began raping her when she was sixteen while on a church camp trip in Indiana. He continued for two years until the family learned of it.

Frank Pavone founded Priests for Life, an anti-abortion group, and chaired Catholics for Trump. The Vatican laicized or defrocked him without appeal for blasphemous communications on social media and disobedience of his bishop. He placed an aborted fetus on the altar and made a video. He is also an election denier.

Donald Trump was the 45th president of the United States. He is also a serial sexual predator. He was found guilty of sexual assault in 2023. Twenty-six women have accused him of sexual assault. Trump claimed that he could sexually assault women without consequence in an Access Hollywood interview.

927: Jon Courson

Jon Courson was the pastor of Applegate Christian Fellowship. He abused his position to pursue a relationship with an employee and parishioner who subsequently left her job and her church. She told the pastor of the Medford Christian Fellowship, her new church, who arranged a meeting with her and an elder of Applegate. The other elders were informed but did nothing to discipline Courson.

926: Ben Courson

Ben Courson is a megachurch pastor who resigned from his church when it was revealed that he abused his position as pastor to pursue sexual relationships with women. One woman accused him of aggressively seeking a sexual relationship, forcibly kissing and touching her but she fought him off and got away. Two other women had sexual relationships that they acquiesced to, in part because he assured them that since he did not preach about sex, it was okay. Additionally, it wasn’t technically adultery, he claimed, as he masturbated and ejaculated on the women.

916: Sean Patrick Masopust

Sean Patrick Masopust was a youth pastor at Northridge Church, an Evangelical church in Owatanna, Minnesota where his father-in-law was pastor. He pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. He was 33 and she was 17, making any romantic or sexual relationship, especially under his authority as youth pastor, a criminal act.
