1203: Paul Schofield

Child Molestation, Child Sexual Abuse Material

Paul Emerson Schofield was a corrections officer at Jefferson City Correctional Center in Missouri. He and his wife pled guilty to “one count of conspiracy to produce child pornograph and one count of producing child pornography” according to the Department of Justice. The child they sexually assaulted was under twelve during the three years the pair abused them to produce child sexual abuse material. There was a video of them sexually assaulting an unconscious four-year-old child. The DOJ press release is much more detailed.

1196: Ashley Crouse

Child Sexual Abuse Material

Ashley Crouse was pastor at New Vision Baptist Fellowship Church, in Granite Falls, North Carolina. After his arrest, the church terminated him.

An investigation began after the Sheriff’s ofice recived an anonymous tip that he had inappropriate contact with minor girls.

In their search, they found four child sexual exploitation videos depicting girls between 8 and 12 years old.

1195: John McCall

Child Sexual Abuse Material, Solicitation of a Minor

John Justin McCall was a worship leader at Grace River Community Church until he was arrested in October 11, 2023, for trying to solicit a minor online. The pastor said they did a background check and interviewed former employers. He worked at Ark Encounter, a creationist theme park

1193: Corey White

Child Sexual Abuse Material

Corey White was the youth pastor at Redeemer Midland, a church that’s statement of beliefs spends more text on anti-gay rhetoric than on communion, Jesus, and salvation combined. He was arrested for possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. They fired him after his arrest.

1189: Matthew Wyatt

Child Molestation, Child Rape, Child Sexual Abuse Material

Matthew Thomas Wyatt was a frequent guest preacher at Southside Baptist Church in Yadkinville, North Carolina. The pastor confirmed that Wyatt preached there several times but wanted it understood he was not officially a pastor there. He was charged with felony sex crimes involving a child less than fifteen years old.

1186: Michael Tobin

Child Endangerment, Child Indecency, Child Sexual Abuse Material, Coercion, Improper Conduct or Comments, Sexual Assault

Michael Tobin was a police officer in Clarksville, Iowa. He was accused of showing sexually explicit images and videos from a criminal case to a minor from September 2021 to February 2022. The minor reported it to police in March 2022. The city fired him and in September 2022 he was arrested and charged with 3 felonies and 8 misdemeanors. In October 2023, he was convicted on all charges.

1181: Justin Durham

Justin Bradley Durham is a former Sheriffs Deputy in Phelps County, Missouri. He was arrested and charged with sexually exploiting two minor girls and recording it, creating and possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material. He was also charged with altering and destroying records to try to cover up his crimes.

1178: Kent Prestwich

Child Sexual Abuse Material

Kent Daniel Prestwich was a nursery leader from Lewiston, Utah, for the LDS church. He was arrested in October 2023 for possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. An investigator saw an IP address requesting Child Sexual Abuse Material via peer-to-peer and tracked the IP to Prestwich. After executing a search warrant, investigators found nine materials of child sexual exploitation of little girls who appeared to be between six and ten years old. The materials are described in the affidavit.

1173: Andrew Overheul

Child Sexual Abuse Material, Nonconsensual Recording

Andrew Lynn Overheul was the Clay County softball coach. He was arrested after he was caught filming his students. There was a party with parents and players. The players decided to have a sleepover. He said they could shower. He used a cell phone to film them. One of the girls saw a cellphone on the counter held in place by two objects. She saw it was recording. She found a recording of herself, deleted it, and called her parents. They came to pick her up. Overheul claimed it was charging. However, when Homeland Security showed up the next day and search they found more recordings and hundreds of nonconsensaul pictures of players. He was charged with six counts of producing Child Sexual Abuse Material. He reached a plea agreement, pleading guilty to two counts. He was sentenced to twenty years in prison.
