Brent Schepp ran uncontested in the Republican primary for Kane County board when he was indicted on 26 counts including 14 counts of criminal sexual assault, 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, and two counts of unlawful delivery of alcohol to a minor. The assaults are alleged to have happened in his home. The articles call them teenage girls. They were 15 and 16 at the time of his indictment in 2006, but the crime happened in 2005, a year earlier.
He killed himself shortly after the arrest.
