Ray Holmberg

Ray Holmberg was a North Dakota senator for 44 years. He is also a retired high school counselot. In 2020, Caton Todd accused him of sexual assault. His allegation was ignored by the media. It got a little more attention when it was discovered that Holmberg exchanged 72 text messages with a man charged with distributing child sex abuse material (CSAM), possessing child sex abuse material, and transporting two children from Minneapolis to Grand Forks, ND, in order to sexually abuse them. Holmberg claimed the texts were about landscaping, but somehow they are “just gone.” He resigned in April 2022.

UPDATE: On October 26, 2023, the US Attorney for North Dakota filed charges against Holmberg for traveling to Prague to rape a minor child. He was also charged with receiving Child Sexual Abuse Material going back to 2012 to 2013. They also note he used several aliases.

Holmberg traveled frequently, reimbursed by the North Dakota state government for $126,000 in travel costs which prompts the question. Did taxpayers pay for his child raping trips?

UPDATE: Holmberg will plead guilty to traveling to a foreign country to sexually abuse children. They will dismiss his other charges including possession of child sexual abuse materials.
