Bill Seitz is the Speaker of the House in Ohio. He conspired with former Speaker Larry Householder to hold sham hearings for a bill that would extend the statute of limitations for sexual abuse and allow the victims of the Ohio State University abuse scandal to sue the University. This is about Richard Strauss, the former colleague of U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan who was informed when it was happening and did nothing.
Seitz wrote in an email to one of the survivors that they never intended to pass the bill. “I do not support a resurrection of HB 249. … HB 249 was intended to apply pressure to Ohio State to come to the table and make meaningful settlement offers.” He said he thought the bill was flawed and that lawmakers never considered suspending the statute of limitations.
Seitz and Householder called victims of sexual abuse to testify about what happened to them several times for political theater.
