Dick Donovan was the District Attorney for Paulding County, a suburban county near Atlanta. He was indicted for bribery when he dismissed a Paulding County case in exchange for another prosecutor dismissing a shoplifting case against a woman he was sexually harassing.
The woman sued, alleging sexual harassment including unwanted advances and touching. He denied it but she produced tapes and notes that proved the allegations were true. The County settled for $300,000 and the DA pled guilty. He was sentenced to 12 months probation.
