Jerry Lewis was a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 41st Congressional District. He retired in 2013. In late 2020, he was arrested for domestic violence. The D. A. declined to prosecute. He died in July 2021.

Former congressman Jerry Lewis has been charged with felony spousal abuse after an alleged domestic violence incident involving his wife. November 15, Redlands police were called to a report of domestic violence at a home, police spokesman Carl Baker confirmed the 86-year-old Lewis was arrested and taken to the Central Detention Center, posted bail and was released. Lewis was charged Nov. 19 and is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 17. Lewis, a Republican, left public office in December 2012 after 46 years in elected office and 33 years representing San Bernardino and Riverside counties in Congress.
