Robert Bauman was a Republican congressional representative from Maryland. In 1980 he was arrested and charged with solicitation of a minor, a sixteen-year-old boy. He was allowed to plead innocent and have the charges dismissed in a plea deal that required him to enter a court-supervised rehabilitation program. He blamed his problems on alcohol. He was defeated when he ran for reelection which might be in part due to his hypocrisy as he was an anti-gay politician. His inclusion is not for that but because he solicited sex from a minor.
