Jamie Berryhill was a Republican primary candidate in Texas’ 11th Congressional district, an open seat with the retirement of Rep. Mike Conaway. With the endorsement of Texas Right to Life and the House Freedom Fund which is affiliated with the House Freedom Caucus, he was one of the more serious candidates. Until he wrote that immigrants entering America is like rape and that rape leaves a woman without value.
He deleted it, but he wrote “A nation without borders is like a woman raped and defiled, her precious value pillaged and taken.” The Odessa, TX, TV station KOSA took a screenshot and asked Berryhill about his post. He told them, “Our nation is like women. If our borders are being encroached, it is like a woman. Like a precious woman, a person that is being defiled by an unruly infiltrator.”
