Peter Lucido was a Michigan state senator. He was the majority whip while in the Senate. He is now the prosecutor of Macomb County, Michigan, which seems likely to make victims of sexual violence and harassment question whether they will be treated fairly. After all, he made a joke suggesting some students visiting from an all-boys’ school “might have fun with” a reporter who asked him a question. She wrote about it, the feeling of humiliation that he caused.
After an investigation was opened about the reporter’s allegation, two other women came forward with sexual harassment allegations, a fellow senator and a lobbyist. Now, as prosecutor, another woman has accused him of sexual harassment.
The reporter intended to ask him about his participation in a Facebook hate group that fomented violence.
