Peter Dibble was a Republican selectman in Stonington, CT, who was charged with sexual misconduct with a minor girl on at least 40 occasions over the course of several years, from when she was ten until she was thirteen. He pled no contest to lesser charges of child endangerment and was sentenced to a suspended 90 days in jail and two years of unsupervised probation. He had the nerve to ask for compensation for resigning from city government.
