Steve Watkins was a one-term Congressman from Kansas. During his 2016 race, he told several lies about his background, claiming endorsements and compliments that were not uttered. He even claimed to know what it was like to make payroll because he founded this company that he only worked for as an employee. Then he was accused of sexual harassment.
Chelsea Scarlett, who worked at the same fort as Watkins, claimed she was in a room with Watkins when he locked the door, put his hands on her, and making unwanted sexual advances. She did not make a complaint at the time because she was afraid she would lose her job.
He won despite the allegations. Two years later, he was indicted for voter fraud and then lying about it to the police. He was under investigation by the House Ethics Committee when he lost his primary.
