Jud McMillin was reportedly a “rising star” in the Indiana Republican Party. He was elected to the House in 2010 and quickly became the majority floor leader. He was considered the most ambitious in the caucus. That fell apart in 2015 when several suggestive and inappropriate texts were sent from his phone and sexual explicit video was also sent. This was followed by a message asking people to ignore what was sent because his phone was out of his hands and his control for several hours, but he had it back. But there was that sex video.
“My phone was stolen in Canada and out of my control for about 24 hours. I have just been able to reactivate it under my control. Please disregard any messages you received recently. I am truly sorry for anything offensive you may have received.”

Unfortunately for McMillin, this was not the first time he had trouble with sexual misconduct claims. He resigned as an assistant prosecutor for having a relationship with the victim in a domestic violence case he worked on, though he insisted in began after he got reassigned from her case. There were also allegations of financial conflicts of interest such as a $600,000 grant to a company he started and handed over to his mother and brother.
