Gail Priest was a co-founder of 99+1, a foster child advocacy organization that worked to address the very real crisis of foster children aging out and being dumped without resources or assistance in transitioning to independence. She founded the organization with her husband, Michael Priest who was arrested in 2024, charged with sexually abusing their adopted daughters. In March 2025, she was charged with child endangerment, child abuse, and child neglect after a six-month investigation.
The investigation into her husband revealed he had committed multiple acts of sexual abuse and that she was aware of the abuse and failed to protect the children and report the abuse.
