
James Robert Murphey worked for over twenty years as youth pastor at Oak View Baptist Church in High Point, North Carolina. To their credit, the church went to the police and suspended Murphey as soon as they learned of allegations that he had sexually battered a minor.
The police investigated and found several victims, all between the ages of 16 and 19. He was arrested and charged with 30 accounts of misdemeanor sexual battery.
One of the several arrest affidavits is below, describing the various assaults involving pressuring them to exposes themselves to each other, even forcibly pulling down the underwear in order to expose the genitals of the minors.
