Jonathan Edward Elwing was the pastor of Palm View Baptist Church in Manatee County, Florida for the past five years. He has been serving as pastor in various places since 2003. He has been charged with eighteen felonies related to his possession, distribution, and manufacture of child sexual abuse material. He filmed himself sexually abusing a child under the age of twelve.
He was caught even though he used cryptocurrency for his trade in child sexual abuse material. The cryptocurrency company tipped law enforcement that he was trading in CSAM.
He is currently in the custody of Manatee Sheriff’s Department, Booking Number 2024004776.
