
Commander Gregory McLean served as the executive officer of the littoral combat ship Minneapolis-St. Paul. A Lt. Commander in the U. S. Navy. Rhode Island investigators received a tip that an account called twisteddesire3210 and 3213 offered to share child sex abuse material. They traced the account to McLean which is when the FBI and NCIS took over the investigation and served warrants and found much more than they expected.
They found that McLean shared child sex abuse material several times. They also discovered that he had downloaded and brought home a lot of classified national defense information.
In May 2024, McLean was sentenced to 160 months for distributing child sexual abuse material and 120 months for retaining classified national defense documents. These sentences will be served concurrently.
