David Helbling was a pastor at The Blessing Center First Assembly of God in Moreno Valley, California. In late January, police were informed of an alleged sexual assault of a minor. On February 14, 2024, they searched his home, collecting evidence of the alleged crimes and arresting Helbling.
He was charged with committing a lewd act with a child under 14 with force, engaging oral copulation/sexual penetration with a child under 10, committing three or more lewd acts with a child under 14, and kidnapping a child under 14.
Bail was set at $2 million.
