Daniel Jeremy Abraham

Daniel Jeremy Abraham was a Bible and Computer Science teacher at Lee Christian School in Sanford, North Carolina. Police received information about misconduct at the school on November 8th and Abraham was arrested November 15th after their investigation.

Abraham was charged with taking indecent liberties with a child and sexual battery. He was initially held without bail, but later bail was set at $5,000 and he was released with the stipulation that he was not to have any contact with the victim and that he was not to be around children except at church services.

A teacher at Lee Christian School was arrested Wednesday on allegations that he inappropriately touched a
student, according to the Sanford Police Department.
Daniel Jeremey Abraham, 57, of the 100 block of Falling Water Road, Spring Lake, is charged with taking
indecent liberties with a child, which is a felony, and sexual battery.
Abraham is listed on the school's website as an instructor in computer science and the Bible.
On Nov. 8, Sanford police received a report of misconduct by a teacher at Lee Christian School located at
3220 Keller Andrews Road. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Abraham.
A person is charged with taking indecent liberties if they are 16 or at least five years older than the child and
had taken or tried to take any "immoral, improper, or indecent liberties with a child … for the purpose of
arousing or gratifying sexual desire or commits or attempts to commit any "lewd and lascivious act upon or
with the body or any part of the body," according to the N.C. General Statutes.
A sexual battery charge, a misdemeanor offense, can be brought against a person who "for the purpose of
sexual arousal, sexual gratification or sexual abuse engages in sexual contact with another person by force
and against the will or the other person," according to the General Statutes.
Abraham was booked into the Lee County Jail and is being held without bail.
