1192: Robert Austin

Child Indecency, Solicitation of a Minor

Robert William Austin, a Florida Department of Corrections chaplain, was caught in an undercover sting. Police created several false identities on social media. Austin sent messages to one of those false identities thinking he was communicating with a 14-year-old girl. He sent her explicit pictures. The day “he was arrested he happened to tell the “girl” that he was going fishing. The police worked with Fish and Wildlife, found him where he was out fishing, and arrested him there.

1191: Newt Crenshaw

Organizational Cover-Up

Newton Crenshaw is the President and CEO of Young Life Ministries, a ministry with nearly a half billion in receipts and over a third of a billion in assets. It has been sued by people alleging they were sexually abused or harassed by Young Life employees and the response has been to cover up rather than root out the problem.

1190: Mike Bickle

Three former leaders of International House of Prayer released a public statement on October 28th, 2023, that asked the organization to address the several long-standing allegations of sexual misconduct by Mike Bickle, what they referred to as the “collective and corroborating testimony of several victims.”

1189: Matthew Wyatt

Child Molestation, Child Rape, Child Sexual Abuse Material

Matthew Thomas Wyatt was a frequent guest preacher at Southside Baptist Church in Yadkinville, North Carolina. The pastor confirmed that Wyatt preached there several times but wanted it understood he was not officially a pastor there. He was charged with felony sex crimes involving a child less than fifteen years old.

1188: Tammy Tyner

In a plea agreement, she submitted an Alford plea for two counts of sexual battery. Instead of serving the 120 days, the sentences were suspended. She will serve two years probation and register as a sex offender. Probation for raping exchange students living in her home. The other charges were dismissed.

1187: Robert Stahn

Abuse of Power or Authority, Sexual Abuse, Sexual Misconduct

Robert Stahn founded Wellspring Counseling Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. One of his specialties is counseling trauma victims, including sexual abuse trauma. So it was ironic that he pleaded guilty to sexual abusing vulnerable women who were under his counseling supervision.

1186: Michael Tobin

Child Endangerment, Child Indecency, Child Sexual Abuse Material, Coercion, Improper Conduct or Comments, Sexual Assault

Michael Tobin was a police officer in Clarksville, Iowa. He was accused of showing sexually explicit images and videos from a criminal case to a minor from September 2021 to February 2022. The minor reported it to police in March 2022. The city fired him and in September 2022 he was arrested and charged with 3 felonies and 8 misdemeanors. In October 2023, he was convicted on all charges.

1185: Joe Saggese

Familial Abuse & Violence

Joseph Saggese is a Republican candidate for Matawan Town Council. In late September, he was arrested and charged with assault and aggravated assault (for attempted strangulation of a domestic violence victim.) The other Republicans who are running for a different city council seat and for mayor have withdrawn their support of Saggese and now have endorsed an independent candidate.

1184: Michael Queensland

Sexual Assault, Sexual Battery, Sexual Harassment

Michael Queensland was Chief Clerk of the Wisconsin Senate. He also had worked for Republican Senator LeMahieu. He resigned after an internal investigation found a woman’s allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment credible. When LeMahieu announced Queensland’s resignation, he said Queensland denied the allegations.
