Kent Stermon was appointed the the Florida Board of Governors by Gov. Ron DeSantis, a man he helped elect and to whom he donated generously. Stermon was an influential GOP donor and active in politics without running for office. In December, 2022, he killed himself. It was rumored that it was due to an investigation of sexual misconduct.
Christopher Link Jones used to work for Alex Jones, the conspiracist who was successfully sued by the Sandy Hook families for alleging the entire event was a false flag and the children they lost were crisis actors. He is now working at Dinosaur Adventure Land, a creationist theme park run by Kent Hovind. His coworkers were unhappy that he was allowed to stay at a family park when he was convicted in California of battery and lewd acts on children.
A criminal complaint was filed in Colorado by the young man who was a 15-year-old boy in 2017 when Alexander was texting him and offering/threatening political favor or disfavor.
Mike Moon is a Missouri Republican state senator who supports and defends child marriage. In 2018, he opposed the bill that raised the marriage age from 15 to 16. In April, 2023, he carried a bill attacking trans children’s rights. He was challenged for his hypocrisy on parental rights since on the one hand, he supports allowing parents to permit a 12-year-old to marry and yet opposed a parent permitting gender-affirming medical care.
Michael Wayne Coleman was a Mormon bishop in Mesa, Arizona. In 2014, he was arrested and charged with soliciting minors for sexual exploitation. The LDS church suspended him when he was investigated. He was working for a company that arranged foreign exchanges for students to come to the United States and had online conversations with the students. He asked them for nude photos, for a kiss, etc. A student complained to the company, they seized his company laptop and informed the police who arrested him.
Joshua Craft was an unsuccessful Republican candidate for Otter Creek Township trustee in Vigo County, Indiana, just north of Terre Haute. The FBI received a tip from Charter Communications and Google that he was sharing Child Sex Abuse Material (CSAM) and passed it on to the Terre Haute Police Department. Fittingly, Craft’s user name at the site, Chat Avenue, was Josh38PervDad. He was arrested in April, 2023. He trial is scheduled for October 10, 2023.
Timothy Keith Owen was a police officer in Edmond, Oklahoma. He retired in 2015, but still did some work for the department as a civilian employee. He was charged with soliciting a minor, a 14-year-old girl. Someone sent the police an anonymous letter alleging there was some issue, so they investigated and the child confirmed he sent her texts asking if she were still a virgin and telling her he wanted to be her first. He also asked her to delete all texts he sent her.
Todd Wade Allen was a Hutchinson, Kansas, police officer. He is also a serial rapist. Paul Zunker was the Carver County GOP Chair in Minnesota. In 2011, he pleaded guilty to sexually molesting a child in his estimation at least once a week. The victim said that she would say “knock it off” and he would just laugh and continue to touch her. She was less than 16 years old. While the penalty could have been as high as twenty-five years, Zunker was sentenced to six months and fifteen years probation.
