963: Richard J. Corkery

Child Sexual Abuse Material

Richard J. Corkery was the Republican mayor of Coaldale, Pennsylvania. In April 2011, the police received an anonymous letter telling them they should investigate Corkery who, the letter stated, had been fired for looking at child sexual abuse material on his work computer. They found child sexual abuse material and tied it to him.

He was convicted and sentenced to 9 to 36 months and 3 years probation. He served 36 months but then violated his probation by being around children

962: John Michael Mann

Child Sexual Abuse Material

John Michael Mann was the Oregon Chief Administrative Law Judge who supervised the sixty judges who would decide cases between citizens and regulatory agencies. He was charged with encouraging child sex abuse which is what Oregon charges people who receive or possess child sexual abuse material. I think that really highlights what the result of possession of CSAM ends with. No one can possess CSAM without children being abused.

He pleaded guilty just before the trial and was sentenced in May 2023 to 38 months in prison and 5 months probation.

961: William Ray Pruitt

Child Molestation, Sexual Battery, Stalking/Harassment

William Ray Pruitt was the police chief of Center Hill, Florida, for about 18 months in the late 90s. It was controversial. In 2008, he ran as a Republican for the state House of Representatives. In December, 2022, he was arrested for sexually battering a 14-year-old girl and then stalking her, threatening her to prevent her from coming forward. She did not come forward for two years because she was terrified of him.

960: George Alexander Diaz Menges

Assault, Kidnapping, Rape, Sexual Battery

George Alexander Diaz Menges was a campaign worker for Manual Asensio, who dropped out just before the for Congressional District Three Republican primary. He was arrested in December 2022 and charged with four counts of sexual battery, two counts of aggravated battery, eight counts of battery and a charge of committing or facilitating a kidnapping.

959: Santiago “Jimmy” Morales Jr.

Abuse of Power or Authority, Child Indecency

Santiago “Jimmy” Morales Jr. worked at San Marcos Baptist Academy, a boarding school for Baptist children. He was charged with having an improper relationship between an educator and a student. The student was seventeen so legally of the age of consent, but the law recognizes that people in positions of authority must not abuse that authority to sexually abuse their students. The student reported it to his dorm parents and counselor.

958: Bradley Wayne Dixon

Child Molestation, Sexual Assault

Bradley Wayne Dixon was the dorm director at San Marcos Baptist Academy. In 2019, he was convicted of sexually abusing students. It took the jury five hours to convict him of two charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child, one charge of sexual performance by a child and four counts of indecency with a child.

His lawyer, even after the conviction, said that the boys were lying to be able to sue. He was convicted in 2000 and is serving a 95 year sentence.

957: Shane Flournoy

Child Molestation, Sexual Assault

Shane Flournoy was a dorm supervisor at the Texas School for the Deaf. He was arrested for sexually abusing a 15-year-old student. The student told police Flournoy offered him $200 to expose himself. Then, he touched the student. This came out when he confessed to his minister that he had sexually abused a boy. The minister went to the police. Flournoy also told the police he had confessed to his minister. He said he paid the boy about $1000 to keep quiet.

956: Jerry Dale Carver

Child Molestation, Sexual Assault

Jerry Dale Carver was the minister of education at an Austin, Texas, Baptist church. In 2006, he was arrested for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old child. According to the arrest affidavit, he picked up a 15-year-old boy at a bus stop, began a sexual conversation, touched the boy. When the boy tried to get out of the car, he drove to a park and sexually assaulted him.

955: Ruben A. Garcia

Child Indecency, Child Molestation, Sexual Assault, Solicitation

Ruben A. Garcia was an associate pastor at Betania Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. He was arrested in 2017 for sexually assaulting two children. He was charged with two counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child by sexual contact. When he was arrested for one investigation, they discovered there was a warrant for his arrest for another investigation in another county into child sexual assault.
